Galvalume is a type of coating made up of aluminum, silicon, and zinc that performs the role of protecting metals from oxidation. These coatings are composed of 43.4% zinc, 1.6% silicon, and 55% aluminum. The coating is sprayed over the surface of cold-rolled plates, providing an effective protective layer on substrates.
Galvalume Steel Coil: Features
- Strong resistance to corrosion
- High heat reflectivity
- Resistance to extreme-temperature oxidation
- Appealing appearance
- More usable area
- Simple to process
Galvalume Steel Coil: Technical Requirements
- Heat Resistance
Galvalume steel coil has impressive heat resistance that can withstand temperatures that exceed 300 degrees.
- Corrosion Resistance
The corrosion resistance of galvalume products is mainly attributed to the protective functions of aluminum. When the zinc starts to wear down, the aluminum will form a thick alumina layer which prevents further corrosion of the materials inside.
- Heat Reflective
Galvalume steel is frequently used as a type of insulating material that has high-thermal reflectance (double that of galvanized steel).
Galvalume Steel Coil Applications
- Construction Industry
The construction industry mainly uses anti-corrosion materials in civil and industrial buildings. Galvalume steel is often used in the construction process of roof grills, GL roof panels, and more.
- Automotive Industry
In the automotive industry, galvalume steel products such as coils and sheets are used to produce corrosion-resistant equipment and parts for vehicles, cars, and more.
- Light Industry
Galvalume steel products are also used to manufacture casings for home appliances, kitchen utensils, residential chimneys, etc.
- Agriculture
Galvalume is used in equipment mainly used for the purpose of food transportation and storage or processing tools often used for fish and meat products.
- Household Appliances
Galvalume steel coils are also used in residential equipment such as air conditioners, electric fans, washing and dryer machines, switch cabinets, refrigerators, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, copier machines, and more.
- Transportation Sector
Galvalume steel coils and sheets are also used frequently in car panels, highway walls, car shells, car ceilings, tractors, shipping containers, and many other types of commercial vehicles.
- Other Uses
It is the base metal of PPGL color coated galvalume steel. PPGL steel sheets are widely used in construction, home appliances, furniture, etc.
